End
Well that's over for now... Probably should come back to it in a few weeks to add little things like links and more content but we don't need to worry about that now. Looked good. =)
Ernest will have to find a new home... O_O

Blogger image uploader makes me mad
Rubbish- I can't upload the work I've done showing the A2 sheets... regardless of how small and low quality i make them. However, I've printed the site map one and have the information one on my ipod to show you and finish off, need some images from you guys to put on and we need to clarify our audience etc... but otherwise it should be ok.
Also just can't work out how to get a screen shot from blogger to transfer into photoshop to put on, is it actually possible?!

In more detail...
I wasn't sure what to do on the audio area at the moment... So I took what Phil was doing a bit further. I think I mentioned this to Phil. Using actual wires to make the typography...
Crap first attempt...
Better attempt...
Make sure you click on them to see them larger.
I kept them as .psd files too.
Tell me what you think.

During 2003 electric shocks in the home caused 28 deaths and 136 reported injuries in the UK.
This website has loads of images of electrical safety signs and symbols

Todays Tutorial
Todays tutorial was really helpful, From it we have decided to narrow the subject down alot. The site should become alot more ellusive, and less information based. We want it to become more of an experience. The topics have changed sightly. The old topics where topics within themselves.
The new areas of the site are:
Telephone: Focusing on the wires.
Trams: more the wires and the direction around the city, (This helps link the site to a city guide)
Sounds: looking at the background noise of technology (such as a computer fan or pylon crackle){this will be less a separate part of the site, but tigh in with the rest of the info}
Dodgy Wiring (safety): dangers of different wires, exposed wiring, and signs (gives the website a purpose/audience)
We have looked at switches and thought this could be a great way for the end user to navigate around the site. Lucy and I have done some rough sketching of the front page. Ill put some sketches up in a bit.

Researching wires
cant remember who was doing cables for audio but this guy appears to have dedicated his life to researching it...
http://www.rwonline.com/reference-room/wired-4-sound/index.shtml

...

Just a little visual for the idea of if you could mouse over the wires and then hear different things... like if a security or police radio on the wires going to the camera, or conversations on the phone lines, etc... Tried to keep a darker look to it. I'd quite like to do something like the Donnie Darko or Requiem for a dream websites.

End of the line...
Well here are some of todays photos. I basically wanted to follow through with my main idea at least for today. I tried focusing on locations and situations rather than objects. So I hopped on the number 10 and ended up in Ruddington... Uploaded onto flickr because it's easier to do lots at once...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/jump_leads/sets/72157603677083252/
I was thinking that you could have an interactive image of a bus stop with a map on it and then once you select a location you would get a video of buying a ticket and then sitting down... As soon as you have sat down there is a rush of images over about 5 seconds that suddenly stops and then you have another interactive part where you could choose where to go at the location, maybe explore the location some how. A rush of images for the trip back. The audience could be Nottingham students and it could aim to get them out of the city center and make them explore... It's kind of like the (short) Situationism movement where one of the ideas was that you can try to get yourself lost in a city, on purpose... That way you find new things. If you don't do that then you end up living a routine with the same thing every day... Only in the end the Situationalists took it too far like the rest of the Dada and Surrealism movements.
I also gathered 3 1/2 hours of sound too. Most of it is just hiss but with key things along the way that can be extracted. If it was done with flash then we need to think about sound or it will be crap hehe.
(NCT map: clicky-clicky)
It was also pretty fun to do all this too haha! ¯\(^_^)/¯

... even more...
Bloody love the cables idea Phil... we could look directly up at telephone cables all crossing over eachother against the sky and see the patterns and shapes they make, kind of like modern star constellations.

More ideas...
been thinking of some too...
1. Chimneys. we could look into the decine of them since the industrial age
2. Locks. Simliar to the letterbox idea and looking what lies behind them
3. Pipes/cables. As technology develops building need updating, items such as air con and the internet were not thought of when some building were built therefore they are often bolted on, unsightfully
4. Road lights. maybe we could look into the idea of light pollution and the effects of global warming
5. Letter or numbers. whoop whoop!
