1. Residential letterboxes... could even peek inside...
2. Clocks, ticking sound effects, showing different times of the day in one place
3. Weeds growing in cracks and crevices
4. Memorials of the dead (benches, statues, graves, plaques)
5. A chosen, specific letter/number (just to reinforce... its a good idea!)
I think the memorial idea could be good... research who they are and tell their story with a dark, serious mood.

There was an old one of these that was done based around the grave yard so I'll keep thinking of that one >=(
I like the letterbox idea... Mostly the part about peeking inside! Like knock-a-door-run, but scarier!
